The truce in Ukraine is uneasy, although the parties try to keep the promises. The Russian deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, Aleksey Meshkov, declared that after the meeting of Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov, and Swiss President, Didier Burkhalter.

“I have seen the information today, that the Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, announced that nobody was killed yesterday” – said the deputy minister.

“That is why the peace-keeping should be in the priority for the international community and for the Ukrainian forces in particular. We should make further steps to improve the situation and to keep the agreements that have been already achieved in Minsk” – he said.

Meshkov emphasized that the intention of the Ukrainian government to close the border with Russia is unreasonable, it can only worsen the situation.

“Any steps that escalate the tension always bring destructive results. It is useful neither for Ukrainians nor for the Russians’ – said Meshkov.

Although, on September 24 the Ukrainian President, Petro Poroshenko, signed a decree “To protect Ukraine and to improve the defense capability”.
The decree implies to close the border with Russia temporarily for marine, automobile and pedestrian traffic.

Poroshenko also ordered the cabinet council to demarcate the Russian border unilaterally. He entrusted the executive authority to work out some measures to reduce the social and economic contacts with Russia.
